I have enjoyed fishing since I was a little kid, but have only recently began to learn to use a fly rod. The Fly Crate piqued my interest because of the educational content coupled with the assortments of various flies for specific locations and situations. It gave me a nice head start. The waters where I live are still a bit warm for trout, but I am tearing up the creek chub population for now, haha! This fellow was taken on a Pat’s rubber legs from The Fly Crate.

This is a well constructed fly. It's very easy to follow on the drift. In the clear water it was so cool watching the trout rise to take it.

I used this #18 beetle on a morning when trout were rising pretty regularly. I caught a couple nice browns and missed several more. I need to be quicker reacting to the takes. It's one of my favorite terrestrials.

These smaller size chubbies are as quality built as their big brothers. They work great as a stand alone dry or pair with a small lightweight dropper guarantees a bite!

I live in southeast Georgia so not any trout fishing near by, so I fish for pan fish. Blue gill, red breast, sun fish, etc. I was fishing behind my house in a small subdivision pond. I hung what looked to be a five or six pound catfish. Not having used a fly rod much at all, I lost my fly I didn’t know how to play the fish. I’m trying to learn but it’s hard when there’s no one to help me. My dad died in 2011, now I’m 71 years old , so an old dog trying to learn a new trick, not easy but I’m having fun trying. I know this review was probably supposed to be about trout fishing, I’m sure this fly would be great, these fish love it. I can’t actually review it for trout, because I an above the knee amputee and had knee replacement on my only real leg, so I haven’t been able to go. Anyway you can count on quality and fast shipping from this company. I will buy from them again, and hopefully get to try them on trout. But pan fish are fun too. Try your luck in ponds, connect with large bluegill and it wi be a blast. Get your quality flies from the fly crate give them a try you won’t regret it.

I do not tie my own flies so I am always on the alert for inexpensive, quality flies. Flycrate is the best that I have found. Great price and great quality. Delivery was very quick also. I’ve been Euronymphing for a while now and the Hot Bead Euro Pheasant Tail is incredibly productive. I am a true fan of Flycrate!
