One look at this midge and it’s easy to tell why it’s so popular among tailwater anglers. The purple body is borderline iridescent and the tarnished black bead gives the whole fly a sleek look that just screams trout-catcher! For selective trout, use the holo midge as the trailing fly on a two- or three-nymph setup.
An extremely flashy midge pattern for big takes.

Fishing the Roaring Fork a day after the new flies arrived from Flycrate I caught one brown on my third cast with the Holo Midge size 20 trailing below a Prince Nymph. Went on to catch another on the midge a few minutes later before having to call it quits. A great fly to add to my arsenal.
Switched from an effective Hare's Ear under a Parachute Adams that netted me 3 rainbows today & switched to my newly arrived Holo Midge in a size 18 and netted 4 more trout, including a fat 20" brown trout on my first cast into a new deep hole. This fly works!
The color really drew in the trout.
