The CDC soft hackle collar creates tons of movement as it pulses in the water, and the heavy nature of this pattern makes it a favorite to use as a lead fly in nymphing rigs. It’s also a solid choice for late summer when used behind a hopper and fished near the bank or in heavy pocket water.
