Walt’s worm is one of the most productive freestone flies out there. It has that rough-around-the-edges look that mountain trout cannot resist! While it can imitate everything from a mayfly larva to a caddis pupa, it’s a great generic attractor to fish in a multiple fly rig. In fact, on a new stream or one with limited hatches, a good setup can be a midge nymph with walt’s worm trailing 12-inches behind.
