Skwala stoneflies are a large stonefly hatch that is an amazing experience for any fly angler. The most famous hatches are on large western rivers in Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Montana, and Idaho. Females will be seen depositing their eggs over riffles and runs. Once Skwala stoneflies fall into the water, it’s a feast! Make dead-drifts along the grassy edges and wherever brush covers the banks.

They typically hatch from February to May.
