Britten Jay’s Salmonfly
$2.19
A salmonfly with a black foam egg sack on the end of the abdomen. Salmonflies are a large stonefly hatch that is an amazing experience for any fly angler. The most famous hatches are on large western rivers in Montana, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. Females will be seen depositing their eggs over riffles and runs. Once salmonfly adults fall into the water, it’s a feast! Make dead-drifts along the grassy edges and wherever brush covers the banks.
They typically hatch from May through July depending on water temperature and altitude.
